Mariano earned his Civil Engineering degree in 2013 at the University of Buenos Aires, with a final thesis in the field of soil & structural vibrations. He worked for three years as a research assistant at the Structural Dynamics Lab in the same university and as a structural consultant at a multinational firm.

In 2016, Mariano finished his Master of Science in Structural Engineering degree at Stanford University, where he also worked on flood risk analysis with David Lallemant. At the present, he is doing his PhD in probabilistic modeling for urban flood risk in University of Buenos Aires co-directed by David Lallemant. He is also a researcher at the Structural Dynamics Lab in the University.

Topics of interest:

Risk analysis at the component and regional scale

Performance-based assessment of structures

Structural dynamics

  • Resilience-based probabilistic methodology for urban flood impact assessment. PhD research project funded by Peruilh Scholarship.
  • Machine learning for flood risk. Chiang Mai Urban Flood Lab.
